shop plans

i may have an oppurtunity to build myself a shop to work on my jeep and other stuff in.

does anybody have experiance in laying down concrete. or know somebody who does.

and also anybody have experiance in building/framing

metal or wood???

First thing to do is inform yourself on building codes for your county as regards size limits, setbacks, permitting, etc.

I recommend registering at garagejournal.com. Tons of info on building shops.

Yep... Garage Journal... it's the Pirate of building shops.

Need more information though.
Where are you located? What county?
Are you in a sub division or out in the sticks?

If you have the option, I would seriously look at building a pole barn. They are the cheapest $ per square foot and give you the flexability of adding concrete (or not) as you can afford it. Concrete WILL be one of the biggest costs you face. Before you say you don't like how they look, go out and look at some on Morton Building's site, you can make them look however you want.

If you are looking for a builder I might be able to help you out. I am one and you now have to have a contractors license in the state of Ga. You can still pull a permit as a homeowner, but if you don't know the building codes you could get your self in trouble. You can call me at 770-527-4822 Chris Rolling Eyes
