Windrock OHV Area - Home of "Rattle Rock" Description Located near Oliver Springs, TN, Windrock has been several years in development to become one of the premier off-road areas in the East. Owned by Coal Creek Mining & Manufacturing Company, Windrock has been made available for our sport though the hard work of the Atomic City 4WD Club and Windrock ATV Club. Like Tellico, Windrock offers something for everyone. Easy trails to the infamous "Rattle Rock" that makes Lower #2 at Tellico look like a trip to the mall. Sloppy mud holes, insanely steep hill climbs (Atomic Ridge Trail) and massive ruts will offer challenge to all vehicles. Rating Easy to nearly impossible. You can purchase your riding permit from them at the trail head and also get a map to the entire riding area. Here are some additional locations where you can pick up your permit. Camping Camping is not permitted inside the OHV area. However, the parking area at the trail head can accommodate very large groups, and has plenty of room for RV parking and primitive camping.
